Endometriosis?

Question

Anyone have it? What were symptoms? Doctor thinks i probably have pcos but my mom has endemetrioses so not sure if its genetic? Im going to a different doctor soon to get tested and see what they say and reccomend and see whats wrong with me. Are endemetrioses and pcos almost the same?

I want to start with recommending a book o found really helpful and interesting. It's call "The doctor will see you now: recognizing and treating endometriosis. It's by a man who has dedicated his life to treating and educating people about edno. You can have both endometriosis and pcos. I have endometriosis pretty severely. My symptoms weren't really "typical" I would get really nauseous if I stood for more than 5 minutes on the first day of my period and then the rest of it I was perfectly fine. I knew something wasn't right but never talked to anyone about it. A few years ago I started to have a weird pain in my side. My doctor said it was a cyst and it would go away but it didn't. I found another dr eventually once the pain got too bad and they did everything possible to figure out what it might be. I had to get ultrasounds, MRI, CT scan, the works. Then when nothing was showing up I had a laparoscopy and they said I am covered with scar tissue and that was what was causing my pain. I am so glad to know what has been happening in my body finally.

I have mild endometriosis and had a laparoscopy back in March. I have horrible heavy periods and they're always so painful and long. Even though I had laparoscopy, it hasn't changed. It's still just as awful. And unfortunately endometriosis can or will eventually come back. The only way to truly know if you have it though is through laparoscopy. I don't have PCOS so I don't know much about that. Good luck!

pcos and endo arent the same, however, at least in my family, both seem to run genetically at the same time. on my mom’s side, me and one of my cousins have endo, while my sister had pcos, as well as another cousin of mine had massive fertility problems. you can also have both pcos and endo at the same time!!!
