Taking the pill a couple hours late?

I've started the combo pill for the first time. I've been on it for a few days now. Unfortunately I've forgotten them at home and won't be able to take it at the same time that I've been taking it. It will probably be a couple hours at least before taking it. But I will still be able to take it in the same day. Am I still protected from pregnancy? Do I just continue my regimen as normal tomorrow?

If you didn't start the pills on the first day of your period you wouldn't be protected from condomless sex if you've only been taking it for a few days.
If it's less than 12 hours late then you are fine, you're just at typical use (~91% effective) instead of perfect (99.8%). Try to take 7 days worth of pills at the same time if you want to be secure about your protection.

Answer

If you take your combination pill sometime within the day, whether it's morning or night you will be fine. If it was the progestin only pill, you would have to take it at the same time to be protected but I think you're fine! It's happened to me before as well
