Period or implantation bleeding

My period was due 10/22. But all I have is brownish red spotting and it starts and stops. Very light compared to my normal period. And the cramps are very mild. And they start and stop also.  I also had some sharp pain in my pelvic area this weekend too. My husband and I have been TTC for 6 months and no luck. And all my home pregnancy test have been negative so far. Am I testing too early?
