Witch hazel is awesome, and try adding fiber to your diet (food or supplement) to make going a little easier. My midwife recommended lemon juice (applied to the site, not to drink), though I never tried it.

I had a hemorrhoid about the size of a pea after giving birth! It was terrible! It was super bad trying to go potty for the first time after giving birth. I used the cream and pads made for hemorrhoids, and after about a week or so, it cleared up almost completely. If it isnt clearing up though, you might need professional help with it.
