Why is my fertile window so big??

I have an average period, and I'm not planning on kids anytime soon, I just wanna know why my fertile window is so big. My health teacher said the fertile window was three days???? Is this wrong??? MY FERTILE WINDOW IS A WEEK LONG!!!

It's not three days. Count from the day you ovulate six days back since that's how long sperm can live in your body. That's your fertile window.
