I've been waiting for this day to come, to get bloodwork done for genetics and gender. Two weeks ago the nurse assured us there were a couple tests we could do and if done electively one was $2000 and the other would be $145. Since I'm not over 35 and since all looks good with baby the doctor told us we can't do the tests because insurance won't pay for it and if done electively would cost $2000-3000. So he confirmed we were told incorrectly. Ugh!! Just had my hopes up but glad baby is doing fine. Looks like we won't find out until our 18-20 week scan. Is it possible to tell earlier than that? I go for nuchal translucency at 12 weeks
