Menstrual cups

So I used a menstrual cup on my last flow and I filled it up every hour although many videos told me that during your period you only bleed a few tablespoons? It said I could have it in for the whole day and that's perfect so I don't have to worry about it leaking during school since I can't fit in the time to do a quick change during passing time but it was probably worse than my tampons use and even on those using super plus size they fill up even sometimes faster than an hour. Is there something wrong or should I do anything about it? It's really getting in the way
