Hello ladies! My name is Karlie! My husband and I have been ttc for 1 1/2 years. We are both in our 20s and healthy so we couldnt understand why it wasnt happening for us! We decided to seek help after 1 year. We started with my regular OBGYN. Without hesitation he immediately prescribed Clomid before any type of a diagnosis was even done. I was on Clomid for 4 months, gradually increasing my dosage with each cycle by 50 mg. It wasn't until 3 months of trying with Clomid that I got an
HSG test done. Come to find out, my right fallopian tube is blocked making it extra difficult to conceive naturally. At this point my husband and I decided it was time to move on to a fertility specialist. We had a difficult time finding any fertility doctors in the area. The closet ones with any sort of reputation were a minimum of two hours from where we live. We heard about how wonderful Dr. Cekleniak at IRMS was from a friend and decided to book an appointment! Mind you we live in PA and IRMS is in NJ, so we drive a minimum of 2 hours each way for testing and treatments. I am now currently a patient of Dr Cekleniak and am undergoing my 1st
IVF cycle! Upon our initial visit and exam with her it was decided that
IUI or IVF was the best course of treatment. Dr Cekleniak highly recommended if we were able, to go with IVF due to less risks and higher success rates, although ultimately she made it our choice. My husband and I decided we wanted to do IVF! I started taking Lupron (10 units) on October 12th. After 10 days of Lupron I was advised to add in Follistim AQ (225 units) and Menopur (75IU) to my daily medications, while reducing my Lupron (5 units). I am currently on day 8 in my cycle. I go in for ultrasound and bloodwork today, so I will post any updates regarding my levels, follicles, and uterine lining as soon as I have them! I would LOVE TO hear everyone else's stories and experiences! ❤
