Glucose test in the UK?

What is it like and what did you have to drink? I've seen that in the US women have to drink a certain glucose drink in either orange or lemon flavour. But at my hospital, I seen that they give you lucosade. I'll be having mine in 2 weeks

I had my test today. I had to fast from midnight the night before. Went in a at 8, had a blood test done and my 28 week blood test as well. They gave me an orange flavour drink after the blood test, it wasn't nice but drinkable if you drink it quick. 2 hours later you go back and they do another blood test. At my hospital if there is a problem detected they phone you the same day. Hope this helps 🙂 x

I fasted from midnight the night before, got to the hospital for 8:45am, had bloods taken, given the drink (lemon lime flavour I think it was, thicker than water, not particularly pleasant but not awful) then it was a two hour wait, next set of bloods taken, had a sandwich and went home. I called for my results after 10am the next day. All clear. It's really not so bad. I felt fine the rest of the day. 😊

I had one with ds2. I had to fast from the night before, had bloods done as soon as I got to hospital. Then had to drink a specially prepared glucose solution....it was nasty and tasted like flat lucozade but seemed really thick and hard to swallow followed by a set amount of water. Then sit for 2 hours and try not to vomit and have repeat bloods taken. I'm not looking forward to having another this time 😣

I had this test yesterday and I had to have a blood test first then have a big ish bottle of thick glucose drink which was vile by the way and then wait another 2 hours for a 2nd blood test. I'm in the uk, hope this helps xx

I'm currently in Germany but maybe it's similar to the U.K.  When I had my glucose test done the nurse gave me a glas of water that had some powder mixed in it. I had to stir it around with a spoon and then drink it relatively fast. After that I had to wait an hour and they took my blood. Also my drink was clear and didn't have a taste. It was just very very sweet
