What is your baby sleeping in for first 6 months?

So since it's recommended that babies sleep in your room for the first 6 months, I'm trying to figure out what we should put him in. We have a nursery with a crib but are not moving the crib into our room. We also have a pack n play & bassinet. The pack n play is very big and I'm not crazy about the idea of having it take up the only walking space we have. I love our bassinet but the sides are padded (it's a kolcraft). I'm not sure if this is considered dangerous, like bumper cribs are? Sleeping in the bed is not being considered due to safety.

Either a box (Finnish style) or a bassinet in our room.

I hit padded bassinet, but I just meant bassinet. Mine had mesh sides, I wouldn't feel comfortable using something with padded sides.

Exactly! I'm doing the same, mesh sides not padded. I'll have my daughter in it until she's 3/4 months, and begins feeding less at night. Then I will transition her to her crib. Both will be in our room(1 year at least)

We are making baby sleep in her crib in her room, which is right next to ours. There may be occasional nights we let her sleep in her fisher price rock n play in our room (the nights she's fussy).

In a crib in his nursery. He has been since he was 3 weeks old.

Co-slept from birth to two months then transition to her crib (in our room).

Isn't the new recommendation a year? Know it's not your question but I heard this earlier today

Yeah, early this week I heard it's 6mo to a year in parents room to reduce SIDS.

For the first 4 months it was in our room in the bassinet(it had padded sides but I only used it till he started wriggling around) then I moved him into his pack and play in our room. He would have been in his crib in his own room sooner but our house wasn't finished being built. We are finally in the house and he is sleeping every night in his crib in his room down the hall from our room.

Naps will be spent in her crib, the first month of nights will be in the pack n play in our room. But when her dad goes back to work he will be working nights. So I'm going to have her in her room from then on so when he comes home at 6am he doesn't come in and wake her up

I would use the bassinet for about a month. Only because when your baby starts moving in their sleep, the padded sides could be dangerous. I have a pack n play next to my bed, it is pretty large but I like having her next to me. But as long as you have a baby monitor its no more dangerous to have your baby in the crib in his room as well. I'm just a worry wart so she stays with me
