induction Day

I'm due December 14. My doctor and I yesterday picked an induction day of December 8. My reason for the induction isn't due to medical needs I asked to be induced because 1. I wanted to make sure my doctor was there and the one doing the delivery and 2. I have a 4 year old son and I wanted to make sure he was taken care of when I was in labor and with choosing a day I can plan ahead and make sure someone is with him. My question is now I'm having second thoughts on being induced. My dr said it increases my chances of having a c section which is not what I want. I was induced with my first child because I had gestional diabetes, but this time around the induction is elective. Just looking for opinions. Should I keep my induction date or cancel it and let nature take its course? Help!
