Labor vs menstrual cramps

Stephanie
I have pretty severe menstrual cramps every month. I'm talking curl up in a ball and cry while using a heating pad or sitting in a scolding hot shower until my 800mg of Advil kick in - BAD. I take that much Advil every 4 hours for the first day ...after that they are gone.
I'm wondering how your cramps compared to labor pains. Am I just totally screwed lol?

I went to a specialist about how bad my cramps are, they feel like my butthole is being ripped out of me while I'm being stabbed in my uterus. Apparently that's within "normal ranges" 🙄 So, I'm curious as well how they'd compare to actual labor pains. I'm just hoping I don't have butthole labor 😂😂

My cramps were like that and labor pains felt like that. Which to me was a relief because I felt like I was use to it. What got me was the back labor which felt like someone was stabbing me in the back and twisting the knife and that never let up like contractions did.

Your cramps won't compare to labor pains no matter how bad they are. They will pale in comparison. My labor started off exactly like bad period cramps, where I wanted to curl up in a ball and take ibuprofen (you can't obviously though and it probably wouldn't work at all anyway), and they just got 50x more painful for like 12 hours. You forget to breathe they hurt so much. You shake a lot. I was in the bath most of the time for just the smallest bit of relief. I couldn't sleep through it at all. I was up all night. That was all before even getting to the hospital.

I have horrible cramps 4 Advil every 4 hours. I have PCOS and Endometriosis. Cramps like that are not normal. Labor was ungodly for me. I got the drugs and was maxed out and still had pain. I am having a c-section this time.
