birth control

So I have really bad migraines. Not head aches. Migraines. I promise there's a big difference & when I get these migraines I get nauseous & dizzy & eventually throw up & after I throw up I feel better but then I have to sleep some bc I'm so tired. I was wondering if birth control helps with migraines? I've heard different things. I'm prescribed a migraine medicine but it doesn't help me.
