All of them COULD, but it depends on the person. BC has an off label use for controlling periods and period symptoms, but these side effects aren't a guarantee when taking BC. Talk to your doctor, it's a bit of a trial and error process to find the right BC for you.

The IUD (from my experience) made my cramps and period worse. I had the paragard, which is hormone free. I'm on the patch now (Xulane) and I do think my period is a little lighter and my cramps are better. I think some pills can actually stop it all together or at least make you skip periods... so I'd say pills, but I guess it varies too.

They could be used to stop your period which would stop the cramps. If you're looking specifically for a brand that will get rid of cramps, talk to your doc. Birth control pills have only caused more cramps for me even though I don't get my periods anymore.
