no flu shot?

I'm pregnant with our third child and I've never received the flu shot in my entire life, including my previous pregnancies. Does anyone else stock up on vitamin C instead? When my kids were little I got them flu shots until they were 3 and each and every time they got sick! What are your natural preventatives during pregnancy for the flu and or any viruses?

I am taking vitamin D. I take the drops because hey are better absorbed and I take two in the morning and two in the afternoon. 
I also try to eat as balanced a diet as possible and nev r forget to take prenatals. Everyone tells you to get the flu shot, but there was a tragic story on here about a woman who, at 19 weeks miscarried after a flu shot and her little one was too small for the NICU.  It turned out that miscarriage is a possible side effect of the flu shot.
I may get one because, as pregnant women, we are immuno-compromised.  But I have been trying to do things all natural so we shall see.they say the risk of developing pneumonia from the flu is greater in pregnant women... but we also survivors centuries without a flu shot.
Also, I did get a cold and a lovely help for a cold while pregnant is to boil fresh ginger in water, squeeze a half lemon into it, add honey and a pinch of cayenne and it is very soothing.  Also the honey and cayenne pepper are anti-inflammatory. I also took this for the flu (not pregnant) and it helped a lot.

Probiotics, vitamin d3, magnesium, elderberry syrup, ginger lemon and honey tea, candied ginger, bone broth, epsom salt baths, and a crap ton of water. My kids will do all of those but the tea and candied ginger. I have a lot of friends who swear by essential oils, but they've never been very effective for me.

Vitamin D! In addition to what you're already doing and what the previous poster said. Think about it....."flu season" happens when so many people's VD levels drop in the winter, because no one is out in the sun. We also eat far less fresh fruits and veggies, and are often cramped up inside with lots of people. While pregnant, I've been taking 4,000 IU of vitamin D-3, and will up that once I start breastfeeding. Go to the vitamin D councils website.

Flu shot isn't supposed to stop you from getting it it's just supposed to make symptoms a bit more mild!

I don't get flu shots either and also don't give them to my kids. We do a lot of hand washing and I diffuse essential oils and also use diluted versions on my kids to keep germs at bay. Plant Therapy is a great brand that you can buy "kid safe" blends so you know they are safe around kids and use on them (when diluted with a carrier oil). I buy them on Amazon and have been using their Germ Destroyer one in the diffuser and their Sniffle Stopper roll on one on my son who had a cold.
