When can you test?

So I have read many articles and posts about when you can take a pregnancy test after ovulation and get a positive. How many days after ovulation or before missed did you get a positive test?

The ovulation tests will continue to be positive or dip slightly like its coming towards your positive then come back strong. I just kept using the tests as mine never went back negative. They are not reliably accurate enough to use alone for a positive pregnancy confirmation so you do need to use a hcg test as well

I got my positive 10 dpo, but it's not always going to happen.  The best time is the day of your missed period or after.  If you do test and it's negative, wait 2 days and if your period hasn't come yet, test again.  There's no secret formula, every woman and every pregnancy is different.

Tests look for the hormone hcg, most generic tests need 50 mlu/hcg to come back positive, the early results tests generally need 25 mlu/hcg.  So once your body has that amount the test will show positive.  How long it takes to reach that amount will vary person to person. Generally they say levels double about every 48 hrs thus the wait 2 days and try again suggestion.

If you want to know earlier go with one of the early results like first response early results.  Those can show positive with just 25 mlu/hcg. And if it's negative, don't lose heart, you may just be testing early.
