In which ways did your first baby change your life?

I'm so scared of drastic life changes.. please let me know how it went for you and what I can expect. 😥

Say goodbye to old you. It's gone! And it's not coming back.
You will learn sacrifice, patience, and a new type of love that you've never experienced before.
You will constantly worry.
You will always be tired.
You will often wonder if you are enough and if you're doing a good job.
You'll need to remind yourself that you are good enough and doing a great job. 
You'll need to remember to take care of yourself too.
But in the end I can promise 
Its so beyond worth it 💜💙

Everything changes. Literally everything. Some of it is awesome! But it is a whole new life, I'm not going to lie.

What I will say, which rarely gets said, is that it's OK to miss your old life and even mourn it. It sucks not being able to just go to a movie spontaneously. It sucks not having money to spend on yourself because baby just outgrew all her clothes and needs new ones. You're allowed to miss the way things were, and it doesn't make you a bad mom.

My life is completely about my baby now. My husband and I spend an embarrassing amount of our time together talking about nap schedules and poop. We're doing OK financially but there's not much extra for fun stuff, even if we could do fun stuff, which we can't because there's no one to watch the baby.

That all said, I can truly say that this is the happiest I have ever been in my adult life. For a long time I didn't even think I wanted kids, but now I feel like this is what I've been waiting for for years, the chance to be a mom to this baby. It's all worth it. I love her more every day.

No sleep!! Lol the newborn stage is really hard! You will feel bad for wanting them to grow up and get past it because you know they are only this little once but it's really tough when you are just feeding, changing diapers and trying to get them to sleep 😬 but they are worth it ❤️

I think some of it depends on the baby. Our little guy is super chill and laid back. We have had no trouble taking him places. We've gone to breweries, wineries, out to dinner, MLB games, 5k runs, etc with him and he's been great every time. So we feel like we can still have lots of fun with friends like we used to, we just know that we usually have to be home by 7:30 to get him to sleep or else we need to be somewhere we can set up the pack n play. He's a super flexible baby and we know we got lucky! That being said he's a horrible sleeper, 6 months old and still getting up multiple times a night, so goodbye sleep for us! I'm sure as he gets older things will change more, but we're happy with the changes so far, we love having family date nights now instead of just us going out 😍

finding a sitter can be hard

your way of thinking will be all about your baby
You have to make a schedule around your baby
few friend's might drop you but you also find which one's are real
you find out that you never thought you could love something more than you loved yourself.

Day's you will be sick but you can't rest
The time's you went shopping for you will be spent shopping on your baby

Having a baby is a very big change, it is scary and it is hard BUT you just have to remember your baby will be there for you when your friends are not. Your babies smile can make the darkest day brighter, waking up to the cooing and giggles make your day! You learn to cope and soon enough it will be routine and you think to yourself "what was I scared of?" We all go through it motherhood is tough but you can do it!!

The 24/7, 365 day a year thing has me a bit hung up. I just didn't realize what a total dependency on me would feel like. In some moments it feels too much, after 4-6 hours of holding, feeding, playing, trying to engage her. But other times she starts crying at the end of a short nap and I can't wait to go hold her again. It's a mystery.

I now have 4, but when my first was born, I looked at the world in a whole new way. Like my eyes opened for the first time. I also started taking care of my self, after I take care of everyone else of course, but I never made an effort on myself before him. I've done wreckless and stupid things, abused my body so much... I started to make sure I'd be here for him , stopped all the nonsense.  (From pregnancy on,  don't worry) anyways, I guess he showed me value in things I never saw before. Good and bad. My first baby boy saved my life, so I make sure I'm here for his.
