Need some advice

Ok ladies. I need some input on something. I'm in the process of miscarrying, and the bleeding is starting to pick up. Now, for a normal period, I wear tampons. I'm not wanting to increase my risk for infection, so I'm opting for pads during this process. I normally wear thongs. Currently, I'm using carefree panty liners but I'm going to need an actual pad soon.

First, what kind of pads do you like? Most comfortable?

Second, for those who wear thongs, what do/did you use for your period? During miscarriage? After pregnancy? Regular underwear, boy shorts, something else?

Other information: I have a doctor's appointment on the 7th. It was supposed o be to check if the baby was developing any. I went on Oct 26th for my first appointment and was supposed to be 9 weeks. Baby was only measuring 5-6 weeks, no heartbeat. Doctor said if the spotting I was experiencing got worse, accompanied by cramping, it was a miscarriage. So here I am.
