work rant

Tami
I'm a chiropractic intern and have finished all of my graduation requirements- so at this point I'm just sitting there during the shift fulfilling hours requirements. Today a secretary to one of the deans walked by our intern lounge and saw that I was using two chairs (and a wedge) to comply with my doctors orders since I'm a preterm labor risk and already dilating at 31 weeks. She threw a fit to the dean of clinics and the chief clinician about how "unprofessional" it looks for me to be in a reclined position and they want a doctors note before I'm allowed to continue sitting this way. Mind you I'm in the intern lounge- not around patients or in communal hallways, etc. I truly feel like with this pregnancy I have been bullied by the administration. Any tips on how to deal with this the best way?I know I'm hormonal but I don't see how putting myself in a reclined position to prevent pressure and labor progression is offensive to anyone?! Has anyone else dealt with this at work? Thanks for reading :)
