College Question ??? if anyone is willing to help please don't hold back

Question

Okay so when I was looking at the tuition prices it says $220/billable hour + fee 
So how does it work. Am I paying $220 in all plus the fee but they let students pay little by little per class? Or I'm stumped :/

For those who take online schooling , how do you like it? Is it better than physically being in a classroom? How do I make sure my credits can transfer to a university of I decided to do online schooling?

I'm not familiar with the billable per hour jargon. When I was in school for my undergrad and grad degrees, it was fee per unit. Each class was usually 3 units. Maybe per hour is the same as per unit? I did my undergrad on campus and my graduate online. I did both at California state schools since I'm a resident and it was cheaper.  I preferred online since I worked and it was easier. If you want the whole experience and don't have to work (or can live at home and work part time), go to campus. Just try to avoid getting a student loan if you can. Also, look into grants and scholarships. Junior colleges have a lot of good scholarships, just talk to the counselor and ask who handles them.

If it's 220 per hour usually that's per credit.Say you  take a 3 credit class that's 3 hours per week per class you take 3 hours 660 plus course or lab or tech fees if it's in a computer lab etc. May be 700-800 for that class plus books are separate. Stick with a state school vs a private. In New Jersey. Ryder would be 41,000 per year. A state school rutgers or tcnj the college of. NEw jersey would be 14,000. Njit New Jersey institute of technology is around 10,000. As for transferring if you know the school you want to go to or the program every school has a transfer counselor department. You pull up the other schools website and find the program and the college catelogue and go down the list. I have that and I need that. You figure it out. Mom moms worked at a county college for 20 years. Make sure you file financial aid before June 1st. As soon as you get the tax refunds you can file.  I have volunteered there for years and do most of the students registration financial aid loan paperwork etc. At the community college. 12 credits is full time. 12 hours per week. Runs you around 1900. I don't recommend online to anyone unless you are super focused. It's hard with work. Kids. And online stuff. There's so many distractions in life. The last thing you want to do is 4 hours of homework at 10pm. But if you can handle it that's all you. I would not be able to focus. If you have any more questions let me know.

For the question about units transferring, if you enroll in a state or university (not a school like University of Phoenix), your units should transfer. JCs have good counselors that can walk you through everything (assuming you're enrolled in one).
