My baby spits up EVERYTHING. What do I do?

She hardly keeps anything down (100% formula-fed) and is always hungry because it all comes back out. She is on a gentlease formula that our doctor told us to give her, and we're about to switch her back to the plain newborn formula to see if it is because of the formula (she started having this  problem as soon as we changed formulas). She's six weeks if it matters.

My daughter started out on newborn in the hospital but with each feeding would spit up or projectile most of her food. When we got home I switched her to gentlease and it just got worse...we ended up switching her to enfamil AR which is specifically made to reduce spit up, as it's quite a bit thicker and have had no issues since! She's been on it for a little over a month now and eating/gaining weight beautifully. If it's something you're concerned about ask your pediatrician if they recommend maybe trying that? At her 2 week check up our pediatrician told us to just wait it out until we got to her 2 month check and see how her weight gain was. But I was sick of seeing her suffer and starving plus I was losing my mind not being able do anything or go anywhere because I was constantly feeding her and decided I did not want to wait that long. I went with my gut and switched her a couple days after her 2 week appointment and I am SO glad I did and she is doing SO much better! Hoping you find a solution, good luck momma!

If she is spitting up (just liquid)/projectile vomit (looks like cottage cheese) a lot and always seems hungry talk to the pediatrician. Could be pyloric stenosis which keeps food from exiting the stomach so the only other way to go is back up.

Also have her checked for a tongue tie as this can cause reflux due to not being able to swallow properly and they swallow a lot of air. A lot of the time pediatricians do not know how to check for this so if they say she doesn't have one double check with a lactation consultant even tho you are formula feeding.

Following. Im also formula feeding and she spits up most of it. Im als9 giving her Enfamil gentle ease, My doctor prescribed Enfamil AR now lets see if that works. And I feed her 2oz every 2-3hrs, I burp twice and hold her for a few minutes before laying her down.

Firstly when you say spit up do you mean a little or projectile vomit. Also is baby gaining weight well. Also is this gradually getting worse over the weeks and now every feed. The reason I'm asking this is it could be pyloric stenosis. It's not a rare condition. Needs a minor opp. But needs diagnosed. Typically diagnosed at 6 weeks

My suggestion would be to try Gerber Good Start Soothe formula and Dr Browns bottles. It's the best combination I've found for my reflux baby! But yeah, it definitely sounds like the new formula is contributing so I would switch asap!

Omg the Enfamil newborn formula ruined our lives!! My baby spat up Gentlease and had the most foul smelling gas. We put her on Similac Sensitive and used Mam and dr Browns bottles. Much better.

My daughter is almost 6 weeks and has bad reflux she is on medication 3times a day. She just got a wedge pillow to sleep on. She has tried 5 different kinds of formula none is working. She isn't gaining much weight. She even spits up breast milk.at night she starts choking on spit up. I have no clue what else to do. After eating she sits up fir 25-30 minutes doesn't help. I'm frustrated

If it's spit up try to burp baby more often and sit baby upright the whole time and for up to 30 minutes after feeding. If it's projectile it could be acid reflux and/or the formula. Talk to the pediatrician!

My boy would projectile like 2 times a week but he would spit up all the time. Constantly. He seemed to be a happy spitter but sometimes it would make him cough which freaked me out! I just can't stand seeing him spit up and cry for more food. I went from pumping and bf to the gentleease formula and while he gained weight he was still spitting and gassy. We finally switched to the enfamil ar and it's been amazing! He loves it and he only spits up every once in a while and a very tiny amount now! Ask your pediatrician their advice but we love the AR!
