supplementing formula? need help

My 2 and a half week old has been mouthing, screaming and throwing himself around for two days. He had his tongue tie snipped two days ago and I feel now is able to get more milk, but it looks like I'm
Not producing enough. I finally fed him 2 oz for formula after hours of constant feedings and he has calmed down and fallen asleep. Any moms successful with breastfeeding and formula? I don't want to give up feeding but it's not fair to make him suffer because I want to exclusively feed. Poor guy was so hungry. Looking for advice!!

My baby had to have her tongue tie snipped as well. They told me it would take a few days for my milk supply to catch up, and for her to use her 'new tongue' so i was told to just feed as she demanded, but top her off with pumped milk or formula (whichever you have) if still hungry after breastfeeding. Within a week my milk supply caught up and we have been exclusively breastfeeding since. I hope this helps!

I have successfully done both for now 4 months before offering a bottle I offer breast if he still seems hungry then I bottle feed I did that for a while. He has reflux and is on special formula to help so he gets that but still nurses not as often but still nurses. Just did a balance that works for you and your little one.
