Pros and Cons of Prenatal Vitamins?
My husband and I eat a pretty balanced diet, no sugar, no breads, basically Paleo. This is our first pregnancy and I am approaching 8 weeks. I keep hearing how important it is to take a prenatal or at least take certain vitamins and pills such as iron, folic acid, and vitamin D, or anything I have a deficiency in. He says I shouldn't take anything and that my diet will give me what I need. But I argue that it's not just me anymore, I'll need extra vitamins and minerals for me and the baby as a whole. He still stands and is so stubborn lol. I'd just like to know or get a general idea of, okay really, is it necessary? Or just a suggestion? And what are the pros and cons of both?
