has anyone been told they have low platelet count?

Im 36 weeks and was told i have low platelets today please share any info or experience with me, im freaking out...

I was told two weeks ago I had count of 139 as long as it doesn't drop below 100 I'm okay if it does I'll get steroids and sometimes they won't allow you the epidural .

Yes I had low platelets with both of my pregnancies. There's usually only an issue if they're under 100,000 then you can't get an epidural (depending on the hospital). If they go really low there's a concern for bleeding. My first labor I wasn't able to get the epidural. This time they kept an eye on my numbers every week and I was able to keep them up above 100,000. But my doctor did induce me a little early because they tend to get lower towards the end.

Yes, in August I was 130, September 105 and October 93. But then 5 days later I was retested and was back up to 135. I'm being retested on Monday (I'll be exactly 39 weeks) and if it drops again we'll talk about induction. My doctors have said there's nothing I can do about it. If it's below 100 I don't get an epidural, but my dr said there's no increased risk of bleeding unless it's below 60. If it dropped that low they would have to fly in some platelets for a transfusion.

Yea I have had a low count for about 4 months now. They were 98 2 weeks ago and 101 on Monday. Don't be scared!! It's really nothing to worry about! Usually if it's 100 or below some places won't give you an epidural but that's about it. They won't need to intervien with anything to raise them unless they get (at my clinic anyway) below 70. :) it'll be ok!!
