Feeding on demand Vs. Feeding routine

My gf who is pregnant with her first thinks she is going to feed her newborn baby on a schedule and not on demand. I have a 7 month old and know that would be considered forcefeeding. Does anyone else agree that is NOT the right thing to do? She doesn't know what she's in for after she delivers and I've tried to explain to her a lot but she just doesn't get it. I guess you don't know, until you know.
