period help!!

I've been on birth control for 3 months and when I stared this month I was 2 days late. Then the following week I missed 2 days again. So I started getting cramps and got my period for the second time in the month. I went to my gyno and she said it's normal and could happen. However this is my second week going with period. Is this normal or should I get a second opinion?
