At what point does the test line get darker than the control line on hpt?

Yes, I know this many be a stupid question but I'm just curious what others think.

Does it need to be? I've only ever taken one test for each pregnancy. If it was positive, that's all I needed.

I only had one test that the test line was darker than the control line and that was at least ha beginning of 5 weeks maybe the end of 4 weeks. I'm not sure why it was like that.
