my birth story
I had the most amazing labour and birth. Going in positive is the best advice I could give! My due date was on the 14th September. At about 2am on that day I started getting contractions every 10 minutes, I was able to sleep through them on and off until morning. I carried on through the day going about my normal jobs. Cleaning, cooking etc. I was due to have a stretch and sweep and when the midwife arrived I was 3cm. At 4pm that day my contractions were 5 minutes apart so we went to the hospital. At this point I was still only 3cm so couldn't be admitted but she did another stretch and sweep. Within 10 minutes I was in agony, almost brought to tears. She agreed to keep me in to see what happens and asked if I wanted a bath or to go in the pool. I opted for the pool. It was amazing! After about an hour I asked for gas and air. High as a kite I laboured for 4 hours before beginning pushing. I pushed for an hour to no avail. I got out of the pool and began pushing on the bed which was a lot easier, her head came out quite quick but then she became stuck at the shoulder. All I remember is loads of midwifes rushing in, massaging my stomach and pulling my baby girl out and taking her to the corner of the room. 2 minutes later she was on my chest. Absolutely perfect ❤️ she was 8lb 6oz, no stitches needed and a slightly painful but bearable recovery. Loved every minute of it. Dare I say I can't wait to do it again 🙊🙊
Here she is at 7 weeks. 😍💗
