what to do to keep LO awake while breastfeeding?

My LO falls asleep while breastfeeding and he never gets enough to sleep through 2-3hours at night. The nurse told me to undress him and make him a little uncomfortable by using wet towel and touch his back when he falls asleep while breastfeeding. What do you to keep yours awake while breastfeeding?

Stroke her cheek. It's a reflex to suck that they can't fight.

I have the same problem. Sometimes I'll take a wipe and tickle her foot with it. Usually I'll change her diaper and that wakes her up. But, even with all that she will pass out within 5 minutes most of the time.

Rub their heads in a circular motion.
Rub their back down to up.
Press in their feet.

I saw a lot of tricks from the nurses when my son was in the NICU for a few days. Making them uncomfortable is part of it, even though you just want them to be comfy and snuggle, and some other tricks are gently blowing some cold air in their face, putting a little cold water on ur fingers and massaging his scalp, tickling his feet, changing positions, sitting him up so he wakes up and then getting back in position, etc. Anything that will wake him up!
