Hello all. I didn't really smoke while pregnant, maybe 2 or 3 times. But when my son was first born I began having panic attacks. I started smoking when he was about a month old. I only smoked when my SO was around and I always fed him before hand. Well, I started noticing that he was sleeping a lot. He also didn't eat as much as a result of all of the sleep. He got rashes all the time, but was otherwise fairly healthy. I quit when he was 2 months old. He was fussy for almost a week. Constant crying, didn't sleep much, and had a hard time eating because of bubbles (gas and burps that were nearly impossible to get out). After that week the improvements were very noticable. He began making more expressive faces. He started babbling. He started playing with his hands and feet and exploring things with his mouth. His stomach problems also started improving. He still gets bubbles, but they're easier to get out and he can fart by himself now. His skin even cleared up a lot. I'm not saying that weed is evil. Or even bad. But to think that there is nothing wrong with it just because it's natural is a flawed concept. To think that it's OK because it's not as bad as something else just isn't true. My panic attacks have progressively gotten worse since I quit. But I wouldn't change my mind for the world. Please, if you smoke while you're pregnant: do a kick count for 6 hours. If it's less than 6 kicks then you could be affecting your child with your smoking. If you're breastfeeding, time how long your baby sleeps and how many dirty diapers they have. If it's less than 8 diapers in 12 hours, it might mean your baby isn't eating enough. If they sleep more than 6 hours in a row or less than 4 in 12 hours then it could be affecting them. If you really want to smoke, please please please monitor your baby to be extra sure that they're ok.
