It's actually the opposite, if you breastfeed your body passed antibodies to your baby which makes them less likely to get sick! Or if they do get sick, it will likely be less severe than what you've got. Happened to me, my daughter and I both got nasty colds and I had a 102 degree fever but she never got a fever at all, just some congestion.

I agree with the first comment! My preschooler brought home a virus from school & it slowly made its way through the house until I ended up with a fever, chills & a cough. My mom recommended I pump instead of nursing so I don't breath on him as much but I fed him only the fresh milk I was pumping & so far he hasn't gotten sick, only a little congestion & extra boogers.

If they get sick it isn't from your breast milk. It would be from close contact and passing germs from coughing/saliva/snot etc. But the breast milk will actually help baby build immunities against the illness you have!! So always keep breastfeeding, it's best for them.

I was so sick one time and she never got sick .. It seemed like she was fighting off something at first but my mom said to feed her as much as I can to help her fight it off and she never got sick
