My boyfriend had manic depression for years and years before he sought treatment. Before when we dated I never knew what was happening and would fight back and enraged him, or just walk away from the situation, which would also enrage him. After years apart he used that time so finally seek help and get on the right medication, and I could not be more proud of him! And since we started dating again (about a month ago) everything has been perfect. Except for two humongous manic episodes, both unjustly targeted at me. This time around I know not to instigate him at all but he says some seriously hurtful things. The next day he always apologizes after he calms down, of course. But I guess my question is, how do you handle these situations and is there anything I could/should be doing to help him?
