What does everyone think of the name 'Remi' for a girl?

I really like the name but I have 2 problems with it. The first is I wonder if it's a little too out there or unusual, I normally like more common names and so does all my family so I think they'll dislike it and their opinions are important to me. The second is I like to have a long version of a name (eg Alexandra for Alex) but I hate 'Remington' the long version of Remi. Do you think I'll still care about these things if I give her that name?

Remi makes me think of the rat from Ratatouille. Remington makes me think of lamingtons. Can you not find an existing name with a Rem in it and use remi as a nivkname?

I like Remi but not Remington :) you could just do Remi? I knew a girl named Raymie. Like Jamie with an R.

OR do a double name like Remi Kate as the first name.

It reminds me of game called Rummy in our language is Remi. But i think its beautiful if saying it in english

My cousin named her child Remington and calls her Remi, cutest child ever!! She is turning 1 now.
