What do you do for a 5 month old that has a cough and very stopped up?

My poor baby is sick for the first time and it just kills me. He's got a cough and what's really bothering him is he's SO stopped up that he can't really breath out of his nose. He can't stay asleep very long without waking up.. It will probably be another all nighter for me again tonight. Any suggestions? :(

Use the NoseFrida. If our little one is really stuffy, we'll give him a warm bath or use saline spray and then the NoseFrida. So much comes out when we do that and he sleeps better. We leave the humidifier on at night too. If I were you, I'd call and ask the dr. We asked at his 4 month appointment bc he was stuffy, she said we could try the Vicks baby rub but we haven't yet. She said not to give Benedryl (unless things were severe and it was absolutely necessary), it can have opposite effects on babies, like fast heart rate/breathing.

Get the Hyrasense Baby nasal spray. I used it for my son since he was a few weeks old and it works very well. Spray one spray in each nostril then use a suction bulb to get the loose boogeys out. I didn't use the bulb though cuz my son would start crying after the spray which made the boogeys come out on their own. Your baby will feel so much better and you'll have a better sleep knowing he can breathe normally.

My daughter just had a bad cold. Just baby vapor rub on her feet with socks and saline drops with a humidifier in the room. Got one from Walmart for $25

Nasal spray nose Frieda and a humidifier.  A slower flow nipple has also helped our little guy keep taking his bottles as he chokes on his normal fast flow when he's sick.  We also sit in the bathroom with three shower in and let the whole thing fill with steam for 20 mins and then put the nose spray in and then try and suck stuff out.  They also sell like a Vicks vapor rub for baby I don't know if it really does anything but we put it all over his chest when he's like this
