Evening Primrose Oil and what I've found out!

Jessica

Since I've seen heaps of posts on this questioning it etc. I've decided to research it and give some in site in my opinion. (Maybe wrong in other women's eyes but yeah)

It's been said that it ripens the cervix and also helps with labour make it easier or somewhat faster (each to their own, everyone says something different; it's worked for others but not with others as well) it also helps with tearing as well.

I started taking mine last week at 34+3 orally: 1000mg in the morning and another 1000mg after lunch or dinner. So 2000mg a day, I have now I have hit 35 weeks I will be taking 3 a day breakfast, lunch and dinner. (Making sure I take it on a full stomach) now once you are at the point of not pre term pregnancy this is suggested at either 36-37 weeks different with who you ask. You can start taking them orally during the day and at night inserting 2 a night - pin a hole in it and insert; it gets messy (as I've read) so you can do it or your partner, tilt you pelvis up and once inserted lay there for 15 mins. Wear a panty liner because it does leak.

If you are unsure ask your midwife, but it's very much safer then Castrol oil as it's not a laxative etc. you can buy Evening Primrose Oil at any chemist, foods store - they come in capsules.

I hope this answers questions of those who wanted to know or curious!
