Not at all! Most would suggest a "free & clear" detergent of some type though!

We already use free and clear detergent so I don't worry about washing things separately. Also, Dreft can say what it wants but it is totally scented. We used it one time and it just smells super harsh to me, probably because I'm used to actual unscented detergent though. It's not necessarily a bad smell it was just way strong. My husband couldn't stand it..so we won't be using that again lol.

No I don't.  We have cloth nappies and they have to be really clean so we use OMO

I would say in general no but I guess if baby has particularly sensitive skin then maybe it's worth looking into something extra mild. I never bothered using separate washing powder or even separating baby's clothes in a separate cycle and my kids never had a problem.

I had eczema when I was young so had to use a gentle natural detergent. I would advise you to use one at first then when its finished try your regular one, if baby reacts you'll know why and he/she will be a little older and stronger.

Well...my husband and daughter both have sensitive skin and we already use free and clear detergent for all of our clothes. So, when the baby comes we will use free & clear as well.

Nope!we just used our stuff and if she seems to be sensative to it then we have a backup bottle of unscented stuff.

Wasn't buying a bottle that was 3 times more money just because It had a baby on the front. It's the same thing

You don't have to, but your baby's skin is more sensitive than yours and he/she could have a reaction to normal detergent. That being said, my sister didn't use special detergent with my niece and she never had any kind of reaction to it.
