vagina odor

One of my gal pals asked me about vaginal odor! She told me after having her baby that hubby wants to go down but she refuses. She says she feel like she always stinks. I told her I'm sure she's fine as I felt it was tmi. She asked what is a normal smell? I said everyone has there own I said as long as it doesn't smell like roadkill I guess! I'm no expert and don't plan to be. Is that the right thing to say?
