hat on baby?

Do you put a hat on your baby at night when sleeping? I normally did this since she was born but the midwife advised it's not safe?

I never put hat on at night. Could come off and pose suffocation risk.

I did because my house gets quite cold at night and leaving the heating on makes everyone stuffy. 
Just used a little cotton cap it wasn't a big woolly thing. And it never came off during his sleep. 
Can understand why it could be seen as potentially dangerous if not done properly x

No, I just turn the heat on in his room so he doesn't get cold. All he wears are warm pjs so I don't feel bad about him not being able to have a blanket

I wouldnt. It could get over her face and cause her to not be able to breathe.
