Did anyone decline the Tdap shot?

My doctor said it is a highly recommended shot to get after 27 weeks of pregnancy. However it is a combination shot and has the tetanus vacine in it. I am highly allergic to it, but I've also read some articles about how the shot is ineffective and has caused birth defects etc. If so, could some of you share your expirences with this vaccine?

I would just be careful about the articles you read (the source, whether there is an suspected vs. actual association of risk, etc.). I doubt your doctor would highly recommend a vaccine that is ineffective and causes birth defects. But if you have an allergy to any of the vaccine's components then it probably would be best for you to skip it.

I got it but I got it right after my daughter was born.

I got it, baby is 100% healthy, nut I also wasn't allergic....

If you are allergic to it, don't get it. You could go in to anaphylaxis and die. The doctor should be able to get just the pertussis part of it to give you if you aren't allergic to that.

I got mine after delivery. It was never discussed prior.

I declined it for both pregnancies. I refuse to take it because it isn't testing on unborn babies and the effects on the female reproductive system are unknown.

I plan on getting it. In laws husband children and my mother will be getting it. 
I declined the flu shot.

I live in WI and we are near for whooping cough.

I got mine done in the hospital after I gave birth.
