does having sex really help induce labour?

I know it's the seman that helps but I'm 38 weeks pregnant and really am ready but my husband is scared to have sex this late on. Does sex really help?! Any stories? I will make him if I have to! Lol thanks

The trick is he must cum inside you. Sperm contains prostaglandins that soften the cervix. Similarly to cervadil that they use in the hospital to soften the cervix and help induce someone.

Yes having sex softens your cervix to prepare for labor. I've heard plenty of OB's who advise to have more sex to get the ball rolling!

Im near 38wks and last appnt my doctor recommended it.  Im a ftm so I dont know if it does, but I dont want sex at this point lol.  She said walking, stairs, and squatting works too. Im just going to let him come when he wants to come.

I had sex the night my son was born. He was only 36 weeks but after having sex the contractions come on. Got super painful then died down. Then I had tons of Braxton hicks contractions (no pain and irregular) so I called my doc. She told me to go to L&D that she would see me there. And after I got there they checked me and said ready to have a baby today? Haha I was 4 cm and had my son that night!

I'm not sure. I was on bed rest since 23 weeks. No sex til 37 weeks. We didn't think we'd make it to 37 weeks but I was still pregnant. So we went at it like rabbits. We actually still wanted it and being told no made it more exciting. Haha tomorrow I'll be 38 weeks and nothing but a bunch of braxton hicks that lead no where. Lol

I had sex when I was 39 weeks pregnant with my oldest daughter and that night I ended up going into labor that night I was uncomfortable to sleep and was contracting when I got to the hospital they didn't let me Go home I was 5cm opened then it skip to 8cm fast I left home at 10:30pm and didn't have her to 7:57am 17 Hour in labor Cuz she want to come out but had the umbilical cord wrap around her after that and they Fix's her she was out and so perfected I was in love but had to get emergency c section thanks to the cord being wrap around her
