fly to Hawaii 32/33 weeks?

Question

Mamas who have already gone through this phase, would you have been comfortable flying from Pennsylvania to Hawaii at 32 weeks pregnant? I will be hitting 33 halfway through the week home so will be flying home at 33.5 weeks. Thanks!

I would double check with the airline you're flying with & your doctor. Some airlines require a written doctors note if flying after 30 weeks. I needed it when flying from Seattle to Philly with my 1st. The main thing I'd worry about is stretching your legs during the flight & protecting you & baby from all the germs. And make sure you get enough rest, the time change can be tough, especially going to Hawaii. We just moved from Hawaii to Virginia & the flight is long. We always reminded our visitors to sleep as much on the flight out to us, so they could quickly get on Hawaii time & stay awake until a regular Hawaii bedtime the 1st night. It's the most beautiful place I've ever lived & I'm so missing it. I hope you have a wonderful time!

Fair warning. It's hell. When we moved here it took 6 flights total over the course of two days (but we had a stupid schedule thanks to the military) but all that plane hopping was just super shitty. Definitely bring Benedryl because that time change will screw you up. We are 5 hours behind the east coast.

Also idk where your final connection will,be before getting here, but it's 5 hours out from California, 8 from Texas. So make sure you're wearing comfortable clothes, have something comfortable like a pillow for your back and such, and get up to stretch and walk often

I'll be flying to Hawaii when I'm 30 weeks! Luckily, I won't be sitting next to smelly strangers. Just wear compression socks, make sure you're walking around as much as possible, and try to elevate your feet.

If your doctor gives you the go.  You are brave to go on such a long flight.  I don't even want to get on an hour long plane ride!

I'm 39wk, & traveled 8hr at 30-31wk, I say go for it & enjoy yourself. There's hospitals in Hawaii just in case 😉
