Scrapbook for Boyfriend - Dumb Present?

Question

My boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship. I'm in grad school, living off of student loans and he's in the Army. The flights to visit each other are quite expensive and I don't have a lot of money to buy him a bunch of presents. I was thinking of making him a scrapbook of our relationship and booking a room at a hotel downtown for his birthday present. Do you think this is an okay gift?

EDIT: He and I are very serious about our relationship and have talked about marriage, our future house, our future dogs, and our future kids. I thought I could give it to him and it could be something that we could add to over our lives together.

My husband has given me many beautiful and expensive gifts over time (vacations abroad, jewelry, etc) but the one I secretly treasure the most was a little book he made one year about our relationship. He even printed out photos and put them in! I have it framed in a shadow box in our bedroom. God forbid, if our house ever burned down, it would be one of the only things I would grab as I raced out 😆

It's not dumb, the 1st year I dated my so I didn't have a lot of money as a college student, I made him a scrapbook filled with song verses he loved, love paragraphs and pictures of us, where we talked about going, what we've done as a couple, the receipt of our first date, etc. I also made him a disk of us with his favourite songs in the background, he loved them and still keeps them under his bed to look at when I'm not there.

I made a little book thing for  one of my exs talking about everything we did in the first year we were together he thought it was awesome.

I made my hubby a shadow box frame when we were dating and he liked it! Still hangs in our bedroom to this day. I think a scrapbook would be a cute keepsake, especially with the distance!

I don't see why not. Guys aren't really into sentimental stuff like scrap books though. But then again I'm basing this off the guys I've been with so I don't know. He will def like the room though
