pains after cervix check?

I'm 39 weeks today and my doctor checked my cervix (still closed) I know it's normal to bleed a little and cramp after but I never have. I've been getting checked weekly since 35 weeks and sometimes it's been twice a week. This time it hurt SO bad when he checked me, that was at 2:30. I bled a little at 4, and I've had constant cramps since. It almost feels like contractions but it's not coming and going it's been constant and now it's 7:50. Is it normal to be in pain for this long?
