Hey lovelies!

I need advise on using a menstrual cup for the first time!!

I use tampons mostly and on rare occasions pads, but would love to change to cups!

Any suggestions and advise is greatly appreciated!

I tried using the cup and when I woke up it had tilted and was no completely inside of me and I had to spend 30 painful minutes trying to fish it out.

I've been using mine for a few cycles. When I manage to get it right I LOVE it!!! You can't feel it at all and can leave it in literally all day without having to change. However it is a STRUGGLE to get it right. A lot of times I think mine has opened up all the way only to discover leaks/floods later on. Sometimes I can feel it inside me and it's uncomfortable. And you definitely have to be VERY comfortable with your body to use one. It helps to have a private bathroom as well for when you have to change it (I live with 5 other people and the toilet is private but not the sink so that can get awkward lol). But no harm in trying one it's definitely better for the environment and better for your health than tampons!! Hope this helps!

With cups, in order to check if it’s in right, just feel around the cup to make sure there are no indents. Plus, using simple folds helps so that the cup can pop open easier. On the first day that you have it, I would recommend wearing a panty liner to catch kind of like the “leftovers”. But yeah the cup is so much better. You can leave it in for up to 12 hours and it reduces the length of your period and cramps. If you insert a cup and you feel it or have increased cramps then try looking into a softer cup. My advice is to measure your cervix, which there are a TON of videos on YouTube on how to do that. If you’ve ever put in a tampon, inserting a cup isn’t that hard, as long as you do the whole feel around it thing. Oh and finally to take it out, I would say pee first and then push down, kinda like you’re trying to poop and squeeze the cup then pull out, keeping upright(which won’t be a problem). It DOESNT create a huge mess like most think, it’s actually perfectly fine. It’s also impossible for the cup to get lost in your vagina, so don’t worry about that. Just relax and push down and you’ll be fine. Hope this helps! Please ask questions if you have any.
