I need advice...should I tell?

Question

I am very newly pregnant (found out on Monday) told my hubs on Tuesday so I'm about 4ish weeks along. I live about 8 hrs away from my parents and this year we decided to visit them for Thanksgiving vs Christmas. We drove here yesterday and today is Thanksgiving day. I really want to tell them in person but I'm scared it's too soon. Here is where I need advice...should I tell them during the trip in person or should I wait but have to tell them from afar?!?

Side note: I am 35 and the only one of three children that is going to have children. This is their first grandchild.

I'd tell them now, I told my whole family at 4 weeks 4 days on Easter. I figured if something were to happen I'd have their support and I'd have them to help me through it

Under normal circumstances, I don't think I'd tell so early. But it's a holiday, you live far away, and nothing beats seeing their reaction in person! If you feel comfortable to tell, do it!

I would tell them. We told immediate family at 5 weeks and started telling a few friends between then and now (12weeks). I decided I didn't want to live in fear. This is a baby and a true pregnancy so I'm going to treat it like one the whole time! If something happens then you will have their support! Get it girl! 👍🏼

I had a similar dilemma I live 15hr flight away from my parents and happened to be going over there for a wedding so i would see them in person! I took the opportunity to tell them and have no regrets I loved sharing that time together. 
I just made it known that it was early and we were waiting on tests etc

I would tell them. In my experience even if it's early it is good to have people to experience the ups & downs of pregnancy. My last baby I told people really early Bc I was excited since we were wanting it but ended up miscarrying early on. It was hard but I had ppl to care about me & take me to my d&c bc my husband couldn't get off work. Let them know & it being their first grandchild they will be over the moon!!

You know your parents best...  If you think they'd be happy or excited do it face to face there is no better feeling.  If you think they'd spazz out on you then distant may be best.  But your with the man you love and if they love him as much as you they'd be happy to hear the news face to face.  Only you know your parents go from that. Good luck...  Happy Holidays
