when should I tell work??

Just found out I'm pregnant. Around 4 weeks. I do a lot of heavy lifting at work and don't want to harm my little growing angel. When should I report this to work? Before or after my first appointment...

Ask your doctor, now. Mine advised me that I could continue my pre-pregnancy routine through my first trimester. I'm a horse farm manager and lifted up to 80lbs each day. When I was about 23weeks she limited me to 40lbs. Now that I am in my third trimester she limited me to 30lbs. Again, ask your doctor. some weight restrictions are very medically necessary and some women restrict themselves without medical necessity because they don't know any better and think they should for the health of their pregnancy.

If you're lifting more than 20 lbs I'd let them know. I use to lift mowers and thought I'd be okay smh nope,I transferred to a different department a week later. Now I sit on my ass all day but I'm 28 weeks now
