Irregular bleeding is the biggest side effect. Mood swings...and change in appetite. Those were the side effects for me. I lost 15 pounds because my appetite changed and I wasn't as hungry anymore. It's going to be the worst the first 3-6 months. I had insane bleeding 24/7 and mood swings through the roof. But now I've had it in for a little over 6 months and it's gotten so much better. It's all about patience and what you'd rather deal with. Not all birth control will be perfect. There's always going to be side effects you won't like, but takes time to adjust. I really like Nexplanon so far and haven't gotten pregnant from it nor pregnancy scares. Not complaining too much, and I expected these side effects so I was prepared since the beginning :)

The first year I had a crazy bleeding pattern. I had like 2 periods a month it felt like. Now I have been on it for 2 years and it has worked out its issues. I have no weird bleedings anymore.
