Usually how much you'd drink for a normal ultrasound. 1L half hour before or 700ml 20 mins before the ultrasound just need your bladder to be full.

I never was told to drink a certain amount or have a full bladder at all at any of my ultrasounds and we have gotten great scans every time

This photo was taken after I hadn't had any unusual amount to drink and had just peed before going into the ultrasound room. Everything from ribs to sex organs were perfectly clear.
