to early to test???

I miscarried in September, and we have been ttc since then. Last month I had light spotting for 5 days, and my doctor told me to count that as a period. So according to that, my period is due today or tomorrow. I have no symptoms of it coming. My nipples have been sore/sensitive all week.. and the only time they've been like that was with my last pregnancy. And then the last couple days I've had cramping, and felt almost hung over, but haven't even been drinking! I took a test Tuesday(4 days ago) and it was negative. Could it have been too early to tell? I'm almost convinced I am, but so scared to take a test and get a negative again! What do you ladies think?!
