birth control help

I've been on a low dose of birth control for 3 years. The clinic couldn't get me a refill in time so I had to wait two weeks before I got a new pack. So obviously, I have to wait until I start my period before I can start back on them. So because I couldn't take them, does that mean my ovulation will start earlier? And my period will start earlier?
